In the solo exhibition By the Window, presented in collaboration with the Nicoletta Fiorucci Foundation, Andro Wekua brings together sculpture, painting, collage, and film in an immersive environment suspended between memory and imagination. The exhibition unfolds as a contemplative world in which space itself becomes a vehicle for reflecting on existence. Central to Wekua’s practice is the figure of the adolescent, both as a biographical frame of reference and as an existential condition marked by openness, vulnerability, and indeterminacy. Through fragmented narratives and compressed temporalities, the works in the show evoke a state of becoming rather than resolution, inviting viewers into an intimate yet unsettled encounter.

Installed as a non-chronological, dreamlike sequence within the architecture of a former garage, the exhibition functions as a psychic topography. Sculptural figures withdraw from direct engagement, generating a tension between attraction and estrangement, while paintings and collages layer photographs, archival materials, and painterly interventions to merge past and present. As viewers move through this liminal space, familiar points of reference loosen, mirroring a contemporary sense of uncertainty. The act of looking becomes an exercise in openness, introspection, and the possibility of transformation.
