Maureen Gallace

Surveying over sixty acrylic works on paper created between 2010 and 2024, the publication offers an intimate look at an important although less-seen side of Gallace’s practice. Over the years, the use of paper has evolved from preparatory studies and private works to what is now a notable medium for Gallace, as is presented here. Developed in close collaboration with the artist, the generously scaled catalogue captures an essence of the works’ scale and tactility.

Gallace is known for her small, distinctive works, often viewed through traditions of landscape, modern, and American painting. Her imagery centers on modest architectural structures—houses, sheds, shacks—and their surrounding environs.
